Ladetra S asked:

f. increased pressure underwater causes more nitrogen gas than normal to be dissolved in body tissues.
g. decreased pressure underwater causes less nitrogen gas than normal to be dissolved in body tissues.
h. the solubility of gases decreases with increasing pressure.
j. there is less dissolved oxygen in cold water.

What partial pressure of oxygen is a scuba diver breathing?

Vic asked:

What partial pressure of oxygen is a scuba diver breathing if the total pressure is 6.3 atm and 20 % of the air is oxygen?

Why should a scuba diver NOT take a hot shower after a DEEP dive?

Lucas B asked:

hello, im doing a chem assignment.

why should a scuba diver NOT take a hot shower after a really DEEP dive??

it has something to do with air bubbles dissolving in cooler water. like when u have a cold class of water warming to room temperature… air bubbles form! how does this relate to hot showers after DEEP dives?

thank you very much for your help

What are the contents of a SCUBA diving tank?

mhorse15 asked:

I need to know what the gas content of a scuba diving tank is. I found somewhere that is was 78% N2 and 21% O2, but that doesn’t seem right to me. If anyone has any answers I would appreciate it soooo much!!
